What is a Domestic Power Generator ?
First and foremost, a power generator is a device that produce electricity able to power other electrical devices. Basically, this type of power generate works with gas or diesel and ensures temporary electrical power.
In other words, in case of power outage due to bad weather conditions for example (rain, storm, etc.), it is important that we all have a reliable and continuous power source at home. So we can pursue our house activities.

How Does a Domestic Power Generator Works ?
Gas or Diesel Supply
Generally speaking, residential power generators operate thanks to diesel or gas supply. Hence, we fill in the fuel tank then, the motor of the engine spins a little turbine which is ready to create usable electricity in turn. Then, two options are available to us:
- Either we can directly plug the electric cables of the tools we want to use in the plug of the generator.
- Or we can wire the generator into a service sub-panel or circuit breaker.

Essentially, any type of generator is measured thanks to wattage, or said differently, by watts. It is important to highlight that the watt corresponds to the amount of power that the engine can produce. Thereby, the more watts the generator produces, the more devices we can power up. That’s why, before making a purchasing decision, make sure to determine in advance the number of watts you will need to power your home.
